The official release of  “Churches and Prisons,” an inspirational cd is on Saturday, September 15, 2007.

 
“Churches and Prisons” is more than the latest inspirational cd written and recorded by veteran composer/singer Andrea Lane.  It is a concept and artistic expression, which encompasses and challenges our existence on the planet.  Andrea challenges us to stand for something or fall for nothing.  This 10-song cd was written during a time in Andrea’s life where she was performing in churches and prisons exclusively.  From the bluesy rock beginning “Listening”, to the very last song, “Love lives in Me”, the listener is taken through sacred talks with God to righteous mutterings.

 Heavy-hitting songs such as “There is only Love” compel the audience into quiet submission while other tunes (“I have seen the Phoenix Rise”) calm and soothe the soul.  The lone political song “I Am” makes a commentary on the way things seem to be going and how we can change.

 Andrea Lane is a trained singer/songwriter with a dance background.   She has been writing songs, recording and performing music for over 20 years.  She has been associated with a few different rock bands including “North Green”.  Their most recent ep entitled “7 Deadly songs” was independently released in November 2004. “North Green” has had 8 song placements on “The Gilmore Girls,” a popular WB show. Their music is also featured on the LTN cable network. The melodic sounds mixed with occasionally dark lyrics leave the listener wanting more. 

Andrea has songs out on Cleopatra Records, Independent Records, and several releases on her own. In the rock scene, she has performed at several L.A. based clubs including The Roxy, The Gig, Molly Mallone’s and The Rainbow Bar and Grill.  In the spiritual music scene, she has performed at “Agape International Spiritual Center”, “Unity of South Bay”,  “Unity of Redondo Beach”, “Unity by the Sea”, “June Cobb Church” and at  “A Global New Thought Association” among various other venues.  Her independently released ep entitled “Blessings” is available at “The Agape Quiet Mind Bookstore”.  “Churches and Prisons” is available at Cd Baby.
